A recipe blog by the person who makes Spritz.

The Spritz iOS app helps you make cocktails from the bottles you already own. This blog is the long-form companion — the same recipes, plus a short note from me on each one.

Fritz, the Spritz mascot

This is Fritz.

He is the friendly bartender on the Spritz app icon. He does not write the blog — that is me — but he keeps an eye on the tone. If a draft starts to sound like a wine forum, Fritz steps in.

What you will find here

Cocktail recipes — the same ones I keep in the Spritz iOS app, posted here so they are linkable, searchable, and subscribable. A short note from me on each one explaining what I like about it, where the recipe came from, and what to do if you do not have one of the ingredients. Then the recipe itself.

How I test them

I test every recipe on a few friends and my wife before it goes up, and use their feedback to figure out the substitutions and additions worth suggesting — if two people independently reach for the same swap, that goes in the post.

What I won't do

No sponsored posts. No invented "secret bartender's tricks." No pretending a $200 bottle is necessary when a $30 bottle does the job. And no recipes with twelve ingredients when four will do.

Subscribe

Subscribe via RSS, or use the Spritz iOS app, which surfaces new recipes inside the Discover tab. Same content either way, free either way.
